Processing Future Probabilities #
This tool is not only useful for historical analysis but can also be applied to predicting future probabilities of fires. When processing projection scenarios, the same step should be followed, but you should double-check and modify the input data accordingly, especially for moisture. This input file should be based on your scenario data. You will need to replace the historical file with those that correspond to the future scenario. Make sure that all files match the desired period and scenario, whether historical or projection, to maintain consistency. Any discrepancies in time periods or file paths can lead to errors or inaccurate results. In the first line, the Start Date and End Date fields require you to specify the time range by setting. For predictions or projections, choose a future period that corresponds to your scenario data or within the period it covers.
With all the data verified and correctly set according to your scenario, click Run to start the preprocessing process. The calculated P in this process should be used in the calculation of Burned Area for the same scenario.
