FLAM Create Label Data #
This is designed to convert shapefiles (SHP files) of burned areas into raster data. If you are working with global data like GFED5, the tool is not needed, as the data is already available in raster format. In the next screenshots, we used the Hut data to show how this should work.
The tool requires a burned area shapefile (SHP) as an input. The shapefile should contain spatial data that delineates the areas affected by fire as well as the time column needed for this process. In the Fire Delineation field, click the Open button to load the burned area shapefile (in this case, 2005_2021_FIREPERIM.shp). This shapefile represents the burned areas over a specific period which is recorded in the DATA_1 attribute, hence it was selected in the Time Column. The Time Column is used to convert the shapefile data into daily or monthly raster output.
For base raster, select a population raster (or another base raster) for alignment purposes, such as ISTAT_popden.tif. This raster ensures that the output raster is aligned spatially with other datasets.
